MRS. IRVING SABLE

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sable,
wed recently at the Mayfair
Room, have returned to Detroit
following a honeymoon in the
New York Adirondacks, and are
making their home on Ewald
Circle.
The bride is the former Fran-
ces Gottlieb, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William Gottlieb. Her
husband is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Sable. Rabbi Hayim
Donin and Cantor Hyman J. Ad-
ler officiated at the double-ring
rites.
For her wedding, the bride
chose a gown of Chantilly lace
and silk mist taffeta, high-
lighted by a portrait neckline
trimmed with seed pearls. Her
bouffant skirt fell into a chapel
train. The fingertip veil was
secured to a lace tiara, and
she carried a cascade arrange-
ments of white delphinium
florettes and stephanotis cen-
tered with a white orchid on
her Bible.
Mrs. _Henry Benach, the
bride's sister-in-law, was matron
of honor, and bridesmaids were
Phyllis Rubenstein and Janet
Label. Beverly Salan, her cou-
sin, was junior bridesmaid.
Henry Benach, the bride-
groom's brother-in-law, was best
man, while ushers included
Norman Goodman and Morris
Schwartz, of Montreal, Can. Al-
bert Gottlieb, the bride's broth-
er, was junior usher.
Guests who attended the cere-
mony were from Montreal, New
York and Chicago.

Local BB Funds
Give Aid to Israel

Members of the Metropolitan
Detroit Bnai Brith Women's
Council this week moved a step
closer to success in their drive
to raise $100,000 for philan-
thropies of the organization,
with the . announcement that a
substantial portion of the sum
already has been collected.
Over 7,000 women in the 26
local chapters are gearing their
efforts for the Nov. 18 fund-
raising finale, which will be
the traditional Star-Studded
Revue, to be held at the Fox
Theater.
According to Mrs. David
Grosberg, Council president,
one of the major projects to
which Bnai Brith women devote
their efforts is Israel.
Working through the Yeru•
shalayim Lodge, which this year
celebrates its 70th anniversary,
the women have assisted in the
formation of kindergartens,
schools for training kindergar-
ten teachers, and have erected
and maintained a home for
children.
Other projects include the
planting of trees in the Martyrs
Forest near Jerusalem, support
for Bnai Brith Hillel in the
Holy City and the furnishing of
a rehabilitation center for dis-
abled soldiers.
Bnai Brith in this country
and Canada has sold nearly
$17,000,000 in Israel Bonds, and
this year expects to meet its
quota of $7,500,000 in Bond
sales.
