Half of all the Bond sales were achieved in Adas Sholom Synagogue which recorded pledges and cash commitments of over $150,000. The remark- able record of sales at Adas •Sholom can be attributed to the dedicated leadership and in- spiration provided by Rabbi Jacob E. Segal, who made mag- nificent appeals at Kol Nidre. and Yizkor; George Spoon, Syn- agogue President, who inspired the support of the Board and announced the Congregation's own $10,000 purchase; Irwin I. Cohn, past Detroit Israel Bond Chairman, who conducted the sales at both services; and Nor- man Allan, Co-Chairman of the Religious Council and Chair- man of the Adas Sholom ap- peal.
