Downtown Synagogue to Observe Sukkot in New Building

SYNAGOGUE

SERVICES

Below is a schedule of services planned at. our synagogues
this sabbath and also for Sukkot, the festival of the harvesting
of the first fruits, which begins at sundown Sunday and is cele-
brated in orthodox and conservative congregations on Monday
and Tuesday and Reform temples on Monday:

TEMPLE ISRAEL: At 8:30 p.m. services today, Rabbi M. Robert
Syme will speak on "Fathers Are Parents, Too." The Bar
Mitzvah of Barry Cousins will be observed. At 11 a.m. serv-
ices Saturday, the Bar Mitzvah of Richard Fryman Bohn
will be observed. Sukkot services will be held at 10:30 a.m.,
Monday. The Garden Club has erected the Sukkah.

CONG. BNAI MOSHE: Sabbath services at 5:50 p.m.. today; at
9 a.m., Saturday. Sukkot services at 6 p.m., evenings; at 9
a.m., mornings. The Sukkah will be decorated by the
Sisterhood.

CONG. BNAI DAVID: Sabbath services at 6:15 p.m., today; at
8:45 a.m.. Saturday, in both the Southfield and Elmhurst-
14th buildings.

BETH AARON SYNAGOGUE: Sabbath services at 6:15 p.m.,
today; at 8:45 a.m., Saturday. The Bar Mitzvahs of Eric
Blum and Michael Black will be observed. Sukkot evening
services at 6 p.m., and morning services at 8:30 a.m. Rabbi
Benjamin H. Gorrelick will preach both -days on "What Is
Perfect Joy?" and "The Sukkah—A Symbol of Security
Under God."

YOUNG ISRAEL OF DETROIT: Sabbath services at 6 p.m., today;
at 9 p.m., Saturday. Same schedule for all holiday services.

TEMPLE BETH EL: Vesper services at 5:30 p.m., today. At
11:15 a.m. services Saturday, Dr. Richard C. Hertz will speak
on "The 'Norld's Most Famous Farewell Address." The Bar
Mitzvah of Frederick Adler will be observed. At 10:30 a.m.
services Monday, Dr. Hertz will preach on "The Story of
Sukkot."

ADAS SHALOM SYNAGOGUE: Sabbath services at 6 p.m.,
today; at 8:45 a.m., Saturday. The Bar Mitzvah of Jerome
Aaron Dresner will be observed. Sukkot services at 6 p.m.
and 8:30 a.m., each clay.

CONG. GEMILUTH CHASSODIM: Sabbath services at 6 p.m.,
today. At 9 a.m., Saturday services, Rabbi Joel J. Litke will
preach on "The, Song of Moses." Sukkot festival services at
6 p.m. and 8:45 a.m. all days. Rabbi Litke will speak on
"The Joy of Observance" and "Temporary Abode and Per-
manent Hope."
