single crime was recorded any-
where in Israel on the first
day of Rosh Hashanah, police
reported Wednesday. On the
second day, however, there was
small upsurge of minor crimes.

TEL AVIV—A Syrian boat of
150 tons was intercepted by an
Israel coastal patrol boat in
Israel territorial waters near
Ashkalon during Rosh H a s h-
anah, an official r e p or t e d
Wednesday.
The boat was brought by tug
into Haifa Harbor and the crew
placed under surveillance. It
was believed the boat was en-
route from Gaza towards Beirut.
