MRS. CHARLES RUBINSTEIN

Early fall roses and chrysan-
themums in the garden of her
parents' home, on Mendota Ave.,
was the setting on Sept. 7 for
the marriage of Janet Willis,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samu-
el S. Willis, to Charles Rubin-
stein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jo-
seph Rubinstein, of La Cross,
Wis.
Dr. Richard C. Hertz and
Rabbi Morris Adler officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
The bride, carrying her con-
firmation Bible covered with
eucharis lilies and white roses,
wore a waltz length antique
white silk gown with brief
sleeves of Chantilly lace and a
scoop neckline trimmed with
the same lace and embroidered
with seed pearls and sequins.
From her pearl crown head-
piece fell an elbow-length, two-
tiered illusion veil.
Mrs. Richard H. Simon, the
bride's sister, was matron of
honor, and Myra Shulman, of
Chicago, Ill., the bride's class-
mate at the University of Wis-
consin, was the maid of honor.
The bridegroom, who recently
graduated from the law school
of the University of Wisconsin
asked his brother, Arthur Ru-
binstein, of La Crosse, to serve
as best man.
After an extended tour
through the Wisconsin Resort
Country, the couple will reside
in Milwaukee where Mr. Rubin-
stein will enter the practice
of law.

ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert

tra.
The guest of honor and prin-
cipal speaker at the garden
party was Cong. John D. Ding-
ell, who spoke on the necessity
of a cultural exchange with
foreign countries, a bill he
introduced and had passed a
few weeks ago by Congress.
Other guests were Eduard
Werner, president of the De-
troit Federation of Musicians,
who introduced Rep. Dingell,
Julius Chajes, cellist Paul Olef-
sky, Harry G. Bradlin and Ira

man of the day, and was assist-
ed by Mesdames Marguerite
Kozenn Chajes, Jack Sauls,
