Stops for School Buses
-
Lt. Gov. Philip A. Hart this
week reminded Michigan mo-
torists that a new state law,
effective Sept. 13, will require
drivers to come to a complete
stop when either approaching or
passing a school bus which has
halted to load or unload chil-
dren.
School buses will be equipped
with flashing "stop" lights
both front and rear to warn
drivers. The new double-stop
law does not apply on divided
highways or in cities and vil-
lages unless local ordinances so
require.
