Supplementary services fcr
non-members, a tradition at
Temple Beth El for 41 years,
will again be conducted in the
temple's Brown Memorial Chap-
el during the High Holy Days.
The guest rabbi will be Dr.
Eugene Mihaly, head of the
midrash and homiletics depart-
ment of the Cincinnati school
of the Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion.
Dr. Mihaly, ordained at the
HUC • in 1949, studied for his
doctorate under the Henry Mor-
genthau Teaching Fellowship,
receiving his PhD in philosophy
and theology at HUC-JIR.
He is a descendant of a long
line of rabbis and scholars, and
is the son of the dean of the
orthodox rabbinate in Balti-
more, Md. Dr. Mihaly is the
author of several scholarly
books and articles which have
been widely acclaimed.
Cards of admission to the
supplementary services are
available at the temple office,
9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, and
9 to 12 on Sunday.

congregation expressed grati-
tude to their cantor on his 20th
anniversary.
Harry Golden, president of
the congregation, said: "This
has been a labor of love for
Louis Sax who has cooperated
with our congregation at all
times and who has provided
solemn services for residents of
the Downriver section of our
community as well as for others
nearby who otherwise would
have been deprived of means
of observing the High Holy Days.
