Suburban Services under the
Geodosic Dome of Northland
Center Playhouse are being
scheduled by Cong. Bnai Moshe
for the High Holy Days, accord-
ing to Julius Reznick, vice-presi-
dent of the Congregation.
Reznik announced that Rabbi
Emanuel Applebaum will offici-
ate. To chant the holiday lit-
urgy, the congregation has ob•
tained the services of Cantor
Jacob Blecharowicz of Buenos
Aires, Argentina, a foremost
cantor in South America.
Reznick indicated that a limit-
ed number of admission cards
will be sold. Interested persons

Members of the congregation
residing in the suburbs and
Northwest Detroit will receive
their admission cards in the
mail: Children of the Bnai
Moshe Religious School will be
accommodated at junior con-
gregation services to be held in
a tent adjacent to the Play-
house.
Reznik said that "with ground-
breaking for our new synagogue
now behind us, we can look for-
ward to next year when we
shall have services in our new
building on 10 Mile and Ken-
osha, in Oak Park."

Registration Starts
for 0-W Schools

The Hebrew, Sunday and
nursery schools of Young Israel
Center of Oak-Woods will hold
registration, beginning Thurs-
day and continuing through
Sept. 3.
According to a congregational
announcement, in accordance
with the requirement of four
years' schooling for Bar Mitz-
vah, boys who will reach their
ninth birthday by April 1, 1959
should be registered in the He-
brew school. The school actually
is open for children to begin
training from the age of seven.
Sunday school starts at the
kindergarten level, , and serves
to prepare the youngsters for
later Hebrew school studie-s:
Sessions begin on Sept. 7.
High Holiday seat distribu-
tion is continuing Monday to
Thursday, from 7:30 to 10 p.m.,
and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. Non-members may attend
the holiday services.
This weekend, sabbath serv-
ices will be held at 7:15 p.m.,
today, and at 9 a.m., Saturday,
when the Bar Mitzvah of Allan
Kahn will be observed. Rabbi
Yaakov I. Homnick will preach
the sermon.

Dems' Art Exhibit

Mrs. Samual B. Danto, of
Huntington Woods, has been
named as chairman of the third
annual art exhibit, to be spon-
sored Oct. 5, at Northland Cen-
ter, by the Democratic Club of
Huntington Woods and Pleasant
Ridge.
Serving as co-chairmen are

Ghana Ups Investment
In Black Star Lines

ACCRA, Ghana (JTA) — The
government of Ghana has de-
cided to increase its present in-
vestment in the Black Star
Shipping Co., which it owns
jointly with an Israel firm, so
that it can buy a new vessel.
The present investment of
180,000 pounds sterling will be
increased by the payment of an
additional 120,000 pounds. The
decision to boost the investment
was taken after directors, at a
previous meeting, had adopted
.a request to shareholders to sub-
scribe an additional 200,000
pounds. sterling worth of shares
to buy the new ship.
The Ghana government holds
60 per cent of the stock, and
the Zim-Israel Navigation Co.,
owns the other 40 per cent.
