MR. & MRS. F. ORECHKIN
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Orech-
kin, of Windsor, Ont., will
celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary on Sunday, at a
family get-together with their
children, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
H. Manning, Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan Kantor and Mr. and
Mrs. Milton D. Hubert, their
grandchildren and one great
grandchild, at the Manning resi-
dence, 18520 Parkside.
Mr. Orechkin came to Wind-
sor from Russia in 1906, and
he and Mrs. Orechkin were
married in Detroit on Aug. 16,
1908. He has been engaged
in the livestock business in
Windsor for over 40 years.
The • Orechkins are active
members of Congs. Shaar Ha-
shomayim and Shaarey Zedek,
and Mr. Orechkin served as
_first vice-president of the for-
mer for four years and is now
a member of the board of di-
rectors.
Both are members of Wind-
sor Bnai Brith, and Mrs. Orech-
kin also serves with the Shaar
Hashomayim Sisterhood and
Windsor Hadassah.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Krasnow have returned from California
and Las Vegas, after celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary
as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Krasnow, of Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. LaPides are currently celebrating
their 26th wedding anniversary at Grossinger's in. New York.
With them is their daughter, Bonnie.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Winokur and son, Marvin, have moved
from Tuxedo Ave., and are now residing in their new home at
18601 Kentucky.
A barbecue garden party was tendered recently in honor of
the 60th birthday of Hattie Joslove, of Steel Ave. Members of
the family and her friends joined in the festivities.
Mr. Elliott Elkin, of the Elkin Travel Bureau, together with
Mrs. Elkin, will leave for a 16-day cruise an the Alcoa Line from
New Orleans to LaGuaira, Venezuela; Kingston, Jamaica; Port of
Spain, Trinidad; and the Dominican Republic. The trip is being
made to check accommodations and facilities for the firm's
clients.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Slutsky, sons, Allan and Larry, and mother,
Mrs. Sylvia Charman, formerly of Tyler Ave., are now residing
in their new home at 20476 Lesure.

Lillian Landis, owner of the
popular Northern Michigan re-
sort.
Special entertainment, featur-

personalities in show business,
has been planned by Samuel
Bela Lovett, general manager
and activities director of the
resort. There will be songs by
Laurence West of "Carousel,"
"Desert Song" and "Merry Wi-
dow" fame. Music and dancing
will be by Bob Ruskin and his
orchestra. Social activities have
been organized to fill every hour
of the day.

clamation of 3,000 dunams of
land of vital strategic import-
ance has been undertaken by
the Jewish National Fund
east and southeast of Lake
Tiberias.
Here, Israel owns a narrow
plain bordering on the lake
and. parts of the steep slopes
of the Gaulan Mountains, as
well as a strip of land a few
hundred yards wide along the
Yarmuk River, wedged in be-
tween the Syrian and Jor-
danian frontier.
