MRS. GERALD SILVERMAN

In a candlelight ceremony on
Aug. 3, at Temple Israel, Roslyn
Dubin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Dubin, of Wisconsin
Ave., was united in marriage to
Gerald Silverman, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Silverman, of
Toronto, Ont. The wedding was
performed by Rabbi Leon Fram.
The bride wore an embroi-
dered organza floor-length gown,
with embroidered panels and a
Sabrina neckline with bossom
Dresden figurines. Her Juliet
cap was of embroidered organza
with a finger-tip veil.
The bride's sister, Mrs. San-
dra Frankel was matron of
honor, while Irwin Schwartz of
Toronto, was best man. Miss
Eileen Kosah was maid of honor
Bridesmaids were Rita Stolman,
Beverly Chaben, Frieda Ann
Papernik, Debbie Wainer, and
Marilyn Lux. Ushers were Al or-
rey Frankel, Howard Dubin,
Ronnie Baker, Stewart Silver-
man, Stanley Rose,. E d wa r d
Rose, Jerry Krigstein and Mor-
den Niren.
After a honeymoon at the
Concord hotel in New York, the
couple will reside in Toronto.

activities in Society

Miss Gail Cooper, 18616 Woodingham, just returned from a
six-week visit to Chevy Chase, Md., and Washington, D.C.,
where she took graduate courses at American University. .
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Green, of 18674 Mark Twain, will cele-
brate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 20 with a dinner
party and reception at Sammy's Avalon Room for the family
and close friends. Planning the festivities are the couple's
children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green, Mr. and Mrs. Simon
Herman and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Berger. The Alex Greens also
have eight grandchildren.
Dr. and Mrs. Abraham Bloch are leaving by El Al Airline
for Israel, where Dr. Bloch will attend sessions of the world-
wide medical convention and the couple will be entertained
by Israeli officials. Before returning home in mid-September,
Dr. and Mrs. Bloch will visit in Rome, Paris and Switzerland.
Mrs. Harriet Starr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Co-
hen, of Elmhurst Ave., will leave Sept. 4 for the Philippine
Islands, where she will spend a year and a half with her hus-
band, Pfc. Fred Starr, who is serving there with the U.S.
Marine Corps. Upon their return, the couple will reside in
Detroit.
Mrs. Sydney Siegel (Sylvia Raskin), of Redondo Beach,
Calif., is currently visiting here with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Moe Raskin, of Ewald Circle. Both Mrs. Siegel and her
husband are former Detroiters.
Mrs. Bertha Katz, of Rochester Ave., has returned from a
three-week stay in Long Island, N.Y., where she visited with
her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. William Gold, and also spent a week
in the Catskill Mountains.
Currently visiting with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
David Klein, of E. Court St., Flint, Mich., is Miss Cataline
Klein, of Santiago, Chile, who stopped here after returning
from a five month trip to Europe and the Middle East. Before
returning to her home, Miss Klein will stop in Miami, Fla.,
where she will visit the Kleins' daughter and son-in-law, Dr.
and Mrs. E. E. Schon.
A luncheon in honor of Mrs. Fanny Gould was held re-
cently . at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ben Gould.
Guests who attended were between 65 and 85 years of age.
