Resolutions calling for
solidarity among the Jews of
the world and closer rela-
tions between Jewish youth
in Israel and in other coun-
tries were adopted here this
week-end at the close of the
world conference of Jewish
youth.
Addressing the final session,
Dr. Nahum Goldmann warned
that "never was a Jewish gener-
ation so threatened with slow
disintegration as the present
one." Casting about for the
answer to the question of how
to remain a Jew in the modern
world, when anti-Semitism was
not making its impact as a seri-
ous problem, Dr. Goldmann sug-
gested:
Knowledge of and resulting
pride in the heroic and unique
history of the Jewish people;
and, participation in the reality
of Israel. He pointed out that
the Nazi holocaust and the epic
creation of Israel were great
experiences which had helped
resolve the dilemna of many
Jews but for the present gen-
eration they were events of the
past.

Ex-Inmates Demand
Prosecution of Nazi

MUNICH (JTA) — Former
concentration camp prisoners
demonstrated here demanding
that German officials active in
the mistreatment and murder
of prisoners during the Nazi
regime should be brought to
trial. They asked specifically
that all camp doctors and
judges who presided over
Nazi special courts giving a
legal veneer to the inhumani-
ties of the Hitler regime be
investigated with an eye . to-
ward prosecution.
A former physician in the
Ravensbrueck concentration
camp for women pleaded inno-
cent Monday at a hearing in
Kiel to charges of having con-
ducted inhumane "experi-
ments" on women and children
in the camp and having killed
and maimed many of them.
The defendent, Dr. Hertha
Oberhauser, through her attor-
neys, pleaded that she had per-
formed only three "mercy
killings" of women prisoners.
Dr. Oberhauser, defending her
medical license at hearings
before the Schleswig-Holstein
Ministry of the Interior, in-
sisted she was innocent of
these charges, for which the
Nureiuburg War Crimes Tri-
bunal sentenced her to 20
years' imprisonment in 1947.
The license revocation hear-
ing was prompted by protests
from the British Medical Asso-
ciation which submitted evi-
dence that Dr. Oberhauser had
injected poisons and inserted
bacteria, and foreign matter
into the limbs of her victims
during her "experiments."
