Israel Profits
from Isaiah
By following the text of
the Bible, the Israeli people
have been able to uncover
mineral deposits, recover
ancient archaeological treas-
ures and even win battles
during the Sinai campaign.
Through the office of De-
troit Police Commissioner
Piggins comes news of yet
another bit of Biblical in-
spiration, this time taken
from Isaiah 1:3.
It happened that Israeli
police captured a caravan of
donkeys loaded with contra-
band, from which the smug-
glers had escaped on foot. An
Israeli sergeant, however, or-
dered that the donkeys not
be fed for a few days.
After withholding the food,
the donkeys were released.
They headed right for the
den of smugglers, as they
were expected to do.
The Biblical source in
Isaiah, with which the Is-
raeli sergeant was acquaint-
ed, reads: "The ox knoweth
his owner, the ass his mas-
ter's crib."

is described by Israel ambassa-

a letter to Detroit contractor,
Edward C. Levy.
Avriel tells of the building of
a joint participation by Israel
and Ghana in a sea line, of
which Ghana owns 60 per cent,
40 per cent remaining with
Israel. Israel is training citizens
of the new African state how to
run the ships so that they may
take over management of the
line themselves.

ing experts to Ghana to aid in
solving their many cultivational
problems. And again, Israel is
