Hebrew School Seminar to Emphasize Israel's Tenth Year as a State The annual seminar of the teaching staff of the United He- brew Schools will be held Mon- day to Thursday. This being the 10th anniversary year of the state of Israel, the main theme for discussion will be "The Teaching of Israel in the Class- room." Dr. Mordechai Levy, cultural attache of the Israel govern- ment in the United States, will be the guest lecturer. He will discuss the g e o g r a p h y and topography of Israel, its govern- ment, social structure, educa- tional system and cultural insti- tutions. Dr. Levy will deliver four il- lustrated lectures on the sub- ject, given on Monday and Tues- day. Shomrey Emanuah have begun planning the construction of their own synagogue. At a recent congregational meeting, Nathan A. Borinstein, reporting on the progress of the synagogue during its two years of existence, said that a lot on the corner of Schaefer and Cla- rita is now completely paid for. He added that with city ap- proval having been granted for the building of a synagogue, the synagogue had embarked on a building campaign.
