Danny Raskin's Louis Weber to Head Detroit Bnai Brith Council

LISTENING

A LOT OF WONDERFUL tal-
ent sang and danced their way
across the Art Institute stage as
Detroit Bnai Brith Lodge Chap-
ter gave its two-nighter "Cover
To Cover" show . . . The local
community has so much tre-
mendous amateur talent that
folks can't stop shaking their
heads in wonderment . . . De-
partment store boss Bill Zol-
kower followed the pattern by
sending us a letter with his so-
lution . . . "After emerging
bleary eyed from viewing my
third amateur show in a very
short span of time, I have come
to a very definite conclusion. 1.
First, Detroit Jewry has an
abundance of top amateur tal-
ent. 2. Amateur shows by vari-
ous organizations are increasing
every year. 3. People are start-
ing to show a marked resistance
towards them. I firmly believe
that if the heads of the various
organizations that put shows on
every year got together, pooled
their talent, brains and know
how, they could come up with
a gigantic extravaganza that
could be put on for two or three
nights. By doing this, the corn :
bined advertising, effort, etc.
could make this the event of the
year. As for funds collected,
it could be divided according to
size of organization. The United
Foundation 'is a good example
of combined effort."

his on-the-lanes accomplishment
at the league's 19th annual ban-

the "Hall of Shame" by kegling
an 85 game . .. His teammates
came through with a Bozo The

CONGLO, through Dr. Jack

founder of the league 20 years

HIS NURSES ALWAYS know
where to reach Dr. L. Hudson
Rosenthal . . . even if pre-of-
fice hours warrant his being
contacted . . . Dr. Rosenthal,
dermatologist with Dr. Perry
Goldman on W. McNichols Rd.,
is so avid a golfer that more
often than not he can be found
out on the golf course playing
his daily rounds . . many
times even before going to the
office . .. If the Detroit Tigers
are playing a night baseball
game, that's where you'll most
likely find Dr. Goldman.

240 YOUNG FOLKS, besides
the many oldsters, had the time
of their lives whipping it up
strong at the Sweet 16 Barn
Dance Party for Bunny Woolf,
daughter of orchestra leader
Sammy and Ann Woolf at Bel-
Aire Catering . . . The square
dancing was there in full force.
but with daddy Sammy at the
microphone, Bunny's guests also
had plenty of modern dancing
flings with everything in the
book from Cha Cha to popular
standards . . . The youngsters
loved it and most of the grown-
ups refused to admit their ages
and watch from the sidelines
. . . It was as if they were say-
ing, "We'll show those kids a
thing or two!"
