Sets Dinner-Dance

An all-day conference is be-
ing planned by the Detroit
Council of Pioneer Women this
Monday, at the Hayim Green-
berg Center, 19161 Schaefer, to
acquaint new Council and
chapter officers and chairmen
with their duties.
Following registration at 9:30
a.m., there will be three con-
current workshops: executive
and organization in room 207,
funds in room 111 and educa-
tion in the library.
Chairing the respective sem-
inars will be Ruth Kantner,
executive; Frieda Leemon, or-
ganization; Goldie Wasserman,
funds; and Evelyn Noveck, edu-
cation.
Participants include Mes-
dames Billie Kramer, Bessie
Berris, Frankie Nagger, Sylvia

Miriam Rose, Estelle Wilk, Ida

ommendations in all areas of
Pioneer Women's activities will
occupy the officers and chair-
men at this session.

Shaarey Zedek Young Peo-
ples League will hold a semi-
formal dance at 9 p.m., June
15, in the synagogue social hall.
The dance will feature the
Latin-American music of Ramon
Cerda, announced chairman

dance committee are Marian
Ruskin, Alice Sobel, Mickey
Simons, Isle Wolf, Gloria Smith,
Sol Wildstrom and Dale Berger.

Nancy Schwartz Named
Assistant County Agent

Kappa Nu Elects First
Non-Jewish President

Wayne State University Al-
pha Gamma chapter of Kappa
Nu fraternity has elected the
following officers: Gene Kon-
stant, president; Bob Wolfe,
vice president; Stan Freeman,
pledge master; Dave Layne,
secretary; and Paul Posen,
treasurer. Gene Konstant is the
first non-Jewish president to be
elected by this predominantly
Jewish fraternity.
The Kappa Nu Mothers'
Auxiliary also held elections,
with Mrs. Morris Mondrow
elected president. Other officers
are: Mesdames William Gray-
son, vice-president; Jacob Stein-
hardt and Pearl Dedilow, secre-
taries; and Phillip Wuntner,
treasurer.
Plans are also being made for
the national fraternity's next
convention, which will be held
in Detroit, in the spring of
1959.
