Mrs. Sadie C. Jacobs, who
headed the Young Women's
Hebrew Association of Detroit
when it was organized in 1921
under the sponsorship of the
Jewish Woman's Club, died in
Baltimore, Md., May 15, at the
age of 64.
A native of Baltimore. Mrs.
Jacobs was headworker of Dor-
chester House, Boston, when
she was called to Detroit to
direct activities at the YWHA.
The widow of the late Philip
G. Jacobs, she leaves a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Bessie Bohrer, of Bal-
timore; a son, David, of Ashe-
ville, N.C., and five grand-
children.
Also surviving are a brother,
Abraham Caplan, and three sis-
ters, Mary Caplan and Mrs. Ed-
ward Geller, of Detroit, and
Mrs. Frank Shulman, of Pem-
broke, Mass.

In Vienna, Closed for 20
Years, Will Be Reopened

VIENNA, May 20 (JTA) —
The Vienna Jewish Community's
elementary Jewish schools,
closed for 20 years since the
Anschluss of 1938, will be re-
opened this fall, it was an-
nounced here today. The
schools will be sponsored joint-
ly by the Community Council,
Jewish Agency and Joint Dis-
tribution Committee.
