versity has made a grant to the
Department of Semitic Langu-

purpose of investigating the
impact of Nazi persecution on

kha) among German Jewry.
Dr. Abram Spiro, chairman of
the WSU Department of Se-

project, has appointed Dr. Max

Mr. Sidney Markel, of Oak Park, Mich., has just returned
from an extended stay in Miami Beach, Fla., during which he was
accompanied by Miss Andre Von Rothenberg, of Paris, France,
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ranick, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. While
there, they were entertained at a dinner party given for 75 guests
by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robbins. Mr. Markel and Mr. and Mrs.
Ranick plan to leave sometime next month for a four-month stay
in Paris, where they will be the house guests of Miss Von Rothen-
berg. They also will tour England, Germany, Austria and Monaco.
Reva Kowalsky and Jerome Stasson will present piano and
violin pupils in a recital at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, at Baldwin Recital
Hall, Woodward at Ferry. The public is invited at no charge.

just returned from Miami Beach, Fla., where they celebrated their
silver wedding anniversary.
