Ceremonies inducting Dr. Bergman into office took place at the annual reunion banquet at the Fort Shelby Hotel. He is the first Jewish doctor to hold this post Dr. Bergman, who has served locally and nationally as presi- dent of Phi Delta Epsilon medi- cal fraternity, also is a past president of the Maimonides Medical Society. The 1,500 - member alumni group Dr. Bergman now heads is a social and service organiza- tion. It sponsors various proj- ects at the school, including its annual clinic day, has raised funds for a medical library and built an alumni room at the college of medicine. The new president resides with his wife at 16873 Muirland. Their son, Gary, is now a stu- dent at the University of Michi- gan college of medicine.
