Set Annual Retreat
for Religious Study

The fifth annual retreat spon-
sored by the Men's Club of Tem-
ple- Israel will be held today
through Sunday, at Haven Hill
Lodge, in Milford, Mich., it is
announced by Alan N. Brown
and Jack S. Cooper, chairmen.
The program will include
religious services this evening
and Saturday, conducted by
Rabbi M. Robert Syme, general
discussions and seminars on
religion and philosophy.
The views of Maimonides and
Spinoza- will be discussed by
Sidney White and Alan N.
Brown; Ira Kaufman will speak
on "Sources of Hebraic Law;"
Arthur Hass and Martin Citrin
will lead a discussion on Isaac
Abravanel, 15th century- schol-
ar, and Moses Mendelson. 19th
century founder of Reform
Judaism.
Sermons at the sabbath serv-
ices will be delivered by Hyman
Jackson, Men's Club president,
and Charles Goldstein, past pres-
ident of Temple Israel. -
Dr. Leon Fram, who has just
returned from a visit to Israel,
will report on his impressions
on the Jewish state, its progress
and promise for the future.

awarded the second yearly
"Man of the Year" award of
JWV for contributing most to
the organization during the past
12 months. New officers were
