Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tomarin, of Sturtevant Ave., have re-
turned from Miami Beach, Fla., where they have been since
going there for the Passover holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. R. Dashow, of 335 Atkins. Brooklyn, N.Y., are
currently in Detroit to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary
with their family. Helping them to mark the occasion will be
their sons, Sam, of Huntington Woods; David, of Lesure Ave.,
with whom they are staying; and Jules, of Chicago. Ill., and
their families. A dinner party was given in their honor this week.
Mrs. David Holtzman will present the following students in
a recital at 2 p.m., May 11, at the Baldwin Recital Hall: Muriel

Susan Weiss. Howard Terebelo, Stevie Weiss, Joel Bleier, Eugene
Rosenthal, Jill Pianin, Cheryl Foldman, Debbie Nathan, Suzanne

Leon Kay, prominent Michigan Zionist. is in Israel, where
he is attending important meetings in behalf of American indus-
trial enterprisers in Israel.
Rabbit Isaac Stollman, national president of Mizrachi-Hapoel
Hamizrachi, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Slomovitz were the De-
troiters at the tenth anniversary celebration of Israel at the
Warwick Hotel and Independence Square, Philadelphia, where
representatives of all national Jewish organizations in this coun-
try joined with the tens of thousands of Philadelphians in inaug-
urating the American tributes to Israel on her first decade of
Statehood.
Nat Gursten. author of "Prosperity Through Taxation," has
returned from the Nation's Capitol, after presenting and dis-
cussing his Plan for perpetual prosperity with professional
Congressional advisers.
Dr. Albert Chafets, a former Detroiter now of San Francisco,
Calif., will be in town next week to visit his brother, Art Chafets,
and his sister, Mrs. Morris Lieberman. He is making the stop-
over here on his return home from a trip to Israel.
Mrs. Sidney J. Rubenstein (Miriam Levin) and daughters,
Judith Michele and Suzanne Joy, have returned to Detroit after
a two-year stay in Alexandria, Va., where Dr. Rubenstein has
been stationed with the - U.S. Army Dental Corps. Dr. Rubenstein
will join them here on May 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Abe Brodsky, of 19316 Rutherford, recently
honored their son. Allen, with a reception at Rainbow Terrace,
on the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah.
Robert I. Solomon, 19964 Woodbine, has returned from New
York City where he participated in a two-week training course
on advanced life underwriting techniques and practices.
Mrs. Helen Ratner, of 19701 Woodingham, is leaving for a
three-month stay in Israel. On her return trip, she will visit
Brussells, Belgium, to attend the World Fair.
Mrs. Reva Schoichit, of 18989 Snowden, is leaving for Dor-
chester, Mass., for a visit with a brother she has not seen for
25 years. She also will see relatives in New York and Phila-
delphia.

SMOP — otherwise known as
"Sammies' March on Polio"—
raised $400 last week for the
March of Dimes, it was an-
nounced by Arnold Gordon and
Aaron Goldstein, chairmen of
the week-long drive conducted
by Sigma Alpha 1).1u fraternity's
Mu Kappa chapter at Wayne
State University.
There were 70 actives and
pledges enrolled in the effort,
the biggest ever undertaken by
the group. Success of the ven-
ture was celebrated Saturday
night, at Club Gay Haven
where the drive results were
announced.
Funds were raised through
different activities during the
week-long campaign, which en-
listed handbills, sound cars,
radio plugs and other media
to publicize the drive over the
entire campus.
Deluxe shoe shines, a campus
movie party, a kiddie car race,
charity car wash and a three-
hour jazz concert were fea-
tured Monday to Friday, with
all proceeds going to fight
polio.
