Forty-five paintings from the
art collection of Detroiter Law-
rence A. Fleischman comprise
the greater part of an exhibit of
76 paintings from Detroit art
collections that will open in
Athens, Greece, on April - 10.
The second art tour arranged
here by the United States Infor-
mation Agency, the show will
travel from Athens to Israel,
Poland, Yugoslavia and Ro-
mania. A painting from the col-
lection of Arthur Fleischman
also will be included, along with
29 from the Detroit Art Insti-
tute.
The new show follows on the
heels of the tremendously suc-
cessful tour of Latin America in
1956 and 1957, which featured
paintings from Fleischman's col-
lection and talks by him in
numerous Latin American
capitols.
