second annual miclwest region-
al seminar of the Labor Zionist
Organization, which opens this
Saturday evening, will continue
through Sunday morning and
afternoon, at the Labor Zion-
ist Center. The entire commu-
nity is invited.
Dr. Sklare, director of the di-
vision of scientific research of
the American Jewish Commit-
tee, will deliver an address on
"The Jew in American Society."
Sherman will speak on "Zion-
ism and Israel in the Totality
of Jewish Life."
Bringing a first-hand report
about one of the major con-
cerns of the American Jewish
community as to whether Amer-
ican Jewish youth will continue
the 4,000-year-old Jewish herit-
age, Dr. Haber, who has had
intimate experience with youth
as professor at the University
of Michigan and as national
chairman of the Bnai Brith
Hillel Commission, will deliver
an address on "Jewish Aware-
ness Among American Jewish
Youth."
The new literary develop-
ments in Israel and the impact
upon the cultural life of Amer-
ican Jewry will be discussed by
Dr. Spicehandler.

must achieve greater strength
if peace is to be maintained
in the Middle East following
the recent union of Arab state:,
Moshe Sharett, former Premier
and Foreign Minister of Israel
declared here at a United Jew-
ish Appeal mass meeting at
Carnegie Hall.
In a backstage ceremony,
Sen. Herbert Lehman and Shar-
ett lighted a memorial candle
for the Jewish martyr's who
perished in the destruction of
the - Warsaw Ghetto and in the
crematoria to which millions
were sent by the Nazis.
