Women's Health Club
Meets at Center Mon.

The first 1958 meeting of the
Jewish Community Center
Women's Health Club will be
at 12 noon Monday, at the Davi-
son branch.
Shirley Weinstein, two-time
achievement award winner. will
serve as chairman of a discus-
sion on attaining weight and
exercise goals. The achievement
award goes to the individual
who scores the most points in
a plan combining diet and exer-
cise in reaching pre-set goals.
"Diet in Reducing," will be
the day's subject. A diet lunch-
eon will precede the discussion
and special diet information
will be distributed.

Dr. Gartner to Address
Kvutzah Ivrith Program

Dr. Lloyd P. Gartner, assis-
tant professor of Semitic lan-
guages and literature at Wayne
State University, will speak at
a meeting of Kvutzah Ivrith at
9 p.m., Saturday, in the Rose
Sittig Cohen Bldg. auditorium.
In keeping with the decision
of the group to center all ad-
dresses this year on the cele-
bration of Israel's 10th anni-
versary of statehood, Dr. Gart-
ner will speak on "Sixty Years
of American Zionism." His talk
will be delivered in Hebrew.

When ex-Detroiter Jay Han-
delsman served in the U.S.
Marine Corps during World
War II, he was in Washington
on furlough when he met a
former Greek Duke, who then
served in the British Navy.
The occasion was a party
given by song writer Fred
Finkelhoff and his then wife,
singer Ella Logan, and the
name of the British officer
was Lt. Philip Mountbatten.
The two "GI's," the British
sailor and the American Ma-
rine spent an enjoyable day
together, and the former gave
his card to Handelsman, the
son of Mrs. Annie Handelsman,
of 980 Whitmore.
The card remained in Han-
delsman's wallet, unused, but
there in the event that some
day he should travel to Europe

and visit his charming friend.
Handelsman moved to Miami
Beach about 10 months ago,
only recently, he lost the wal-
let containing the card.
Although he had not heard
from his former service friend
nor even written to him during
the intervening years, Handels-
man had a sudden compulsion
to review old times, and drop-
