David J. Cohen, president of
the Merkaz and chairman of the
annual dinner of the Council of
Orthodox Rabbis (Vaad Harab-
onim) and the Merkaz, this week
announced the appointment of
a group of sponsors for the
event.
The dinner, at which Rabbi
David Lifshitz, of the Yeshiva
University- faculty, will be guest
speaker, is scheduled to take
place Feb. 26, at Holiday Manor.
There also will be a program
of musical entertainment.
The dinner committee lists
Morris Dorn, Meyer Eisenberg;
Abe Nusbaum and Isidore Sos-
nick as co-chairmen. The fol-
lowing also are members:

The Men's Clubs of all Re-
form, Conservative and Ortho-
dox synagogues in Detroit and
suburbs will participate in the
seventh annual Inter-Congrega-
tional Dinner at 6 p.m., Wednes-
day, at Beth Abraham Syna-
gogue.
Dr. Henry Raphael Gold, for-
mer rabbi and now a practicing
physician in New York, will ad-
dress representatives from 17
participating groups. His topic
will be "The Spiritual Educa-
tion of the Scientist."
Participating in, the prograM
will be Beth Abraham's spiritual
leader, Rabbi Israel I. Halpern,
Dr. Robert Schlaff, chairman of
dinner arrangements and toast-
master; and Irving Michaels,
president of the host Men's
Club.
A musical program will be
offered by Cantor Shabtai Ack-
erman and the synagogue's mu-
sical director, Israel Fox.
Reservations may be made
with any of the participating
men's clubs or by contacting the
Beth Abrah6m office.
