Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Raimi, of Sherbourne Dr., recently
entertained their niece, Geri Davis, at a family dinner party
in their home in honor of her sixteenth birthday. Miss Davis
also was honored by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Davis,
of Oak Park, at a sweet sixteen luncheon at Jeri's.
Mr. and Mrs. Abram Epstein and sons, Larry and Bobby, -
have returned from a three-week stay in Miam
- i Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Max Goldman, president of Sholom Auxiliary of the
Jewish War Veterans recently entertained officers, board mem-
bers and committee chairmen at a luncheon attended by 25
women, among them six past presidents.
In celebration of his 75th birthday, Mr. Frank Orechkin,, of
Windsor, Ont., was honored at a surprise brunch given Feb. 2
by his children, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H.' Manning, Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan Kantor and Mr. and Mrs. Milton D. Hubert, in the
Manning residence, at 18520 Parkside.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Kurbis, who were recent visitors here
from Los Angeles, Calif., were entertained extensively by Esther
Pivoz, Nate and Ben Weisman, Harry Schwartz, Miss A. Yellin
and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schwartz, of Oak Park, where they were
house guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Darb, of Cherrylawn Ave., recently
entertained at a dinner party for 30 guests in honor of the
graduation of their daughter, Corinne Goldstein, from Wayne
State University's college of education.
Michigan Home Protective Society recently tendered a
surprise party in honor of Joseph Policove, vice-president, and
his wife, on the occasion of their 41st wedding anniversary.

Center Older Adults
Set Weekend Outing

JWV Activities

An outing for members of
the Jewish Community Center's
Older Adult program is being
planned for Feb. 23, at Camp
Tamarack, Holly, Mich. --
A busy .program is being pre-
pared by a committee of older
adults, headed by Hyman Moss.
In addition to the day's social
program which will be held in
the main lodge of the Aaron
DeRoy Village, the participants
will view Tamarack's "winter
wonderland" scenes via a bus
tour.
The "one-day" campers will
leave Detroit by bus at 9 a.m.
Sunday and - return at 6 p.m.

Ben Goldberg was unanimous-
ly re-elected president of the
Detroit Business Men's Chapter
of the City of Hope last week,
as members expressed their con-
tinued confidence for another
successful fund-raising year in
1958.

edged as one of the leading

in the nation
for the institu-

`Tithe' All Sales

they are "designating 'Tithe
Days.' Ten percent of the

will go forth immediately, not-
ing the name of the donor. Mo-
hawk is willing to forego the
profit represented by these

ary hostess Mrs. Rose Slavin
for their participation in the
Muscular Dystrophy and Moth-
er's March on Polio campaigns.
The sorority also announced
the formation of a Mothers'
club, with all mothers of mem-
bers eligible to join. The next
meeting of the Mothers' club
will be at the home Of Mrs.
Gerald Goodman of Mendota
