Life of Israeli
Girl a 'Thriller'

In a JTA syndicated article,
David Schwartz tells what he
thinks is Israel's answer to Hol-
lywood's phony glamor girl.
Instead of experiencing life
vicariously, he relates a true
story of an Israeli girl, Jael
Finkelstein. He goes back sev-
eral years to when Adlai Ste-
venson was • on a visit to
Israel. He was amazed to find
that his pilot on the trip was
a girl—Jael. She is a licensed
air pilot.
Several years later, just re=
cently, after the proclamation
of the independence of Ghana,
among those to visit the new
country was Mr. Stevenson. At
a cocktail party given by state
officials Stevenson saw
a
familiar face—Jael. She was
part of a Hebrew University
delegation to the festivities.
And shortly thereafter, dur-
ing the Sinai campaign, when
parachutists were dropped on
Egyptian territory, again, the
pilot was Jael.
More exciting and rewarding

Dr. Belkin Joins College Presidents
in Writing Article for Rusians

Dr. SAMUEL BELKIN, president of Yeshiva UniVersity,
looks at a copy of America Illustrated, a Russian-language
publication issued by the U.S. Information Agency in the
Soviet Union, in which he joined with five other college
presidents in outlining the purposes of American higher edu-
cation. The educators, including Dr. Nathan Pusey, of Har-
vard, and Dr. Theodore Hesburgh of Notre Dame were unani-
mous in declaring that man's chief concern cannot be with
knowledge alone but with its moral and humane use.
