Present Boy Scouts
'Ner Tamid' Awards

At Scout Sabbath services,
Feb. 7 and 8, 500 Boy Scouts
and Explorers throughout the
United States will receive the
distinguished Ner Tamid (Eter-
nal Light) Medal for reverence,
it was announced by Jeffrey L.
Lazarus, chairman of the Na-
tional Jewish Committee on
Scouting. More than 3,000 Ner
Tamid Awards have been made
since the award was established
in 1947.
The award, bronze medal
worn suspended from a blue
and white ribbon, is presented
to outstanding Scouts who ful-
filled the religious requirements
as developed by the National
Jewish Committee on Scouting.
These include a general knowl-
edge of the Bible, Jewish his-
tory and religion, • faithful at-
tendance at synagogue, and serv-
ice to the community.
The nation's 4,750,000 Scouts
and leaders will observe Boy
Scout Week, Feb. 7-13 marking
the 48th anniversary since the
founding of the Boy Scouts of
America.

For her wedding, the new
Mrs. Gerson chose a gown of
peau de sole, styled with a
high neckline and highlighted
by lace appliques and long
sleeves that tapered to a point
at the wrists. The semi-fitted
skirt was bouffant and ended
in a court train. Her French
illusion veil fell to her finger-
tips from a shell cap of seed
pearls and sequins which was
hand sewn by an out-of-town
cousin, Reva Alper, who at-
tended the ceremony. She car-
ried a prayerbook arrangement
of white orchids and stepha-
notis.
Edyth Yaras, the bride's
aunt, was maid of honor, while
her cousin, Linda Yaras, was
junior bridesmaid. The bride-
groom's brother, Bernard Ger-
son, was his best man, and Sey-
mour Yaras and Howard Yaras,
the bride's brothers, served as
junior usher and ring bearer.

Dr. Saul Rosenzweig was re-
elected to a second term as
Chief of Staff of Sinai Hos-
pital at a meeting of the hos-
pital's medical staff executive
committee, according to an an-
nouncement by Dr. Julien . Pri-
ver, director of the hospital.
Also re-elected to second
terms were Dr. Maurice P.
Meyers, assistant chief of staff,
and Dr. Eli M. Brown, secre-
tary-treasurer.
In addition to his Sinai hos-
pital responsibilities, Dr. Rosen-
zweig is medical director of
North End Clinic and is an as-
sociate professor of Wayne
State University College of Med-
icine. He is on the staff of four
Detroit hospitals — Sinai, Chil-
dren's, Florence Crittenton and
Receiving.
A native Detroiter, Dr. Ro-
senzweig is a specialist in in-
ternal medicine and has been
practicing in Detroit since 1927.
He received his medical degree
from the University of Michi-
gan in 1924.
