St. Johnio Speak
at Temple Israel

"Spotlight on Israel and the
Middle East" will be the topic
of f or e i g n correspondent
Robert St. John when he speaks
at Temple Israel at 8:30 p.m.,
March 2, in the main sanc-
tuary.
The program, sponsored by
the temple's Young Marrieds
Group, is open to the entire
community, and is planned in
anticipation of Israel's forth-
coming 10th anniversary year
celebration.
In addition to being one of
the best known correspondents
during World War II, .St. John
is noted as a writer, lecturer
and author. He has penned
eight books, among them "Sha-
lom Means Peace," written in
1948 and often called the best
book written on Israel by a
non-Jew.
His trip to Detroit will be
among the first in a series of
speaking engagements around
the country, to which he re-
turned only recently after
again visiting in the Middle
East last year.
According to the chairmen of
the event, Bernard Goodman
and Jerome Ross, tickets are
available from members of the
group or at the Temple Israel
office, UN. 3-7769.
