Miss Diane Lewis was recently entertained by her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Lewis, of Ridgedale Ave., Oak Park, at a
sweet sixteen party in Menjo's. Phyllis Balamut played the
piano to honor Miss Lewis and to entertain the 60 guests in
attendance.
Mrs. Rose Rubenstein and Mrs. Eada Barrer will present a
number of their pupils in a piano recital on Saturday. There
also will be a demonstration of theory and ear-training.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yolles, of W. Outer Dr., are spending
the winter in Miami Beach, Fla., at the Pine Tree Apartments,
408 W. 25th St.
After his return from a month's vacation in Florida, Cuba,
Jamaica and Puerto Rico, Sidney Markel of Oak Park was sur-
prised with a party, in honor of his 18th birthday, by his sister,
Mrs. Shirley Katz, at Jerri's, for 40 guests on Jan. 25.
Maurice Zeiger, of Detroit, is participating in a 'three-day
seminar on new developments in estate planning and business
life insurance programs at the Statler-Hiltoh Hotel, Hartford,
Conn.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sadovitz recently celebrated. their 50th
wedding anniversary at a reception in their honor, held in the
home of their daughter, Mrs. Irving Alpert, of Livonia. Among
the out-of-town guests were the Sadovitz' son, Jack, and daugh-
ter, Mrs. Irving Oppenheim.
Honoring Bernie and Bernice Sweet, a mystery bus trip was
given by Mr. and Mrs. Alan Nathan. Among the guests were the
H. Olshanskys, S. Eichenhorns, H. Blinders, A. Weisses, H. Kahns,
J. Sweets, H. Bobroffs, H. Millers, L. Kuzins, H., Winemans, M.
Weisses and M. Mitzes.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Kaufman were honored recently at a
celebration honoring their 25th wedding anniversary. Held at
Mar-Gene Catering, the party was given by their children, and
attended by the couple's many friends and relatives. Helping
to celebrate the occassion also was their first granddaughter,
Michele Renee.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Chadwick, of 2087 Ewald Circle, have
returned home after spending a two-week vacation in New York
City.
