Resume Study Courses
at Beth El Monday

The winter semester of Beth
El College of Jewish Studies
will begin this Monday at 8 p.m.,
and will continue for seven con-
secutive Mondays. The following
courses will be offered: "A Sur-
vey of Great Jewish Books,"
"The Jewish World Yesterday
and Today;" 9-10, "Aspects of
Current Jewish Thought," "His-
tory and Development of Re-
form Judaism." The instructors
will be Dr. M. W. Shudofsky and
Dr. Lloyd P. Gartner, of the De-
partment of Semitic Languages
and Literatures at Wayne State
University; Rabbi Nathan
Hershfield of Temple Beth Ja-
cob in Pontiac, and Rabbi David
A. Baylinson, Assistant Rabbi
of Temple Beth El.
Enrollment in Beth El College
of Jewish Studies is open to the
public, free of charge. Registra-
tion will be held on Monday
evening, beginning at 7 p.m. All

Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion, will ad-
dress a luncheon meeting of
the three local Reform congre-
gations (Beth El, Israel and
Emanu-El) on behalf of the
Combined Campaign for Re-
form Judaism. He will be ac-
companied by A. B. Polinsky,
of Duluth, Minn., Reform Jew-
ish lay leader, who is serving
as. general chairman of the
campaign.
The luncheon will be held
Monday, Jan. 20, 12:15 p.m., at
the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel.
The Detroit campaign is part
of a nation-wide drive now be-
ing conducted in 550 Reform
