Bnai Moshe Sisterhood Schedules Music Study Club Announce Betrothal
Annual Donor Luncheon Monday Concert to Offer of Marilyn M. Goode

Making plans for the annual donor luncheon of the Bnai

music will be presented at 8:30
p. m., Monday, at the Interna-
tional Institute, John R at
Kirby.
Prepared under the direction
of Marguerite Kozenn Chajes,
the concert is being offered by
the Music Study Club in cooper-
ation with the International In-
stitute and the Music Perform-
ance Trust Fund of the Ameri-
can Federation of, Musicians.

be heard, some for the first
time in Detroit, others for their
initial performance in this coun-
try.
Having their first perform-
ances in America will be Trois
Pieces Breves by Pierre Capde-
vielle, Sonatina for Oboe and
Piano by Conrad Beck, Mem-
ories of Youth by Julius Isser-
lis, Sonata No. 3 for violin and
piano by Henk Badings and
Five Greek Dances for String
Quartet by Nikos Skalkottas.
New to Detroit will be Lauda
di Nostra Donna from "Savona-
rola" by Mario Castelnuovo-Te-
desco and Julius Chajes' Flower
Song.
Commentaries on the music
will be given by Mrs. Chajes,
who, in addition to directing the
program, is also chairman of
the day for the . Music Study
Club.
The public is invited to at-
tend at no admission charge.
Writer to Speak
on Egyptian Trip
Dr. Henry Shoskes, writer
for the Day-Morning Journal
who recently completed a trip
to Egypt, will speak at an oneg
shabbat at 8:30 p.m., Jan. 17,
in the Hayim Greenberg Cen-
ter, 19161 Schaefer.
The lecture is sponsored by
the city committee of the Far-
band Labor
Zionist Order,
and is open to
the entire
community.
After spend-
ing two weeks
in Cairo, where
he met with
Egyptian offi-
cials and rep-
resentatives of
the Jewish
community,
Dr. Shoskes
visited in Is-
rael with Pres-
Dr. Shoskes ident Ben-Zvi,
Premier Ben-Gurion and Knes-
set Speaker Joseph Sprinzak.
Dr. Shoskes also has visited
in Poland, Romania and Soviet
Russia, and was in Europe just
after the Hungarian exodus to
Austria, where he spoke to
countless Jewish refugees.
