United Hebrew Schools Name Midrasha, Annual Federation Pre-Campaign
High School Building in Honor of Kasle Budget Conference This Sunday

The Board of Directors of
the United Hebrew Schools
unanimously voted this week
to name the new Hebrew High
School and Midrasha Building,
now nearing completion, ad-
jacent to the Esther Berman
Building on S c h a e f e r near
Seven Mile Road, in honor of
the schools' president, Abe
Kasle.
The building, the dedica-
tion of which is expected to
take place early in Febru-
ary, will be known as "The
Basle Hebrew High School
and Midrasha Building."
The decision to adopt this
name and to honor its presi-
dent was reached by the board
of directors of the Hebrew
schools after the adoption of
the following resolution in
Kasle's honor:

Two Ghana Delegations
to Study in Israel

ACCRA, Ghana (JTA)—Two
delegations of prominent lead-
ers of this new republic left for
Israel. One is a delegation of
trade union leaders, the other is
a smaller group representing
the Joint Provincial Council of
Ghana's Chiefs.
The union delegation, consist-
ing of six members headed by
Deputy Secretary General Met-
tlenunoo, of the Ghana Trade
Union Congress, will be the
guest of the Israel Confedera-
tion of Labor and will spend
four months in Israel to study
the operations of the Israel
union movement. The unionists
are particularly interested in
the cooperatives conducted by
Histadrut.
The second group was headed
by Paramount Chief Tsibu Asa-
rem of Assin Atandasu State.
He will be _the guest of the
Mayor of Jerusalem, and will
study the administration of re-
gional and local councils in Is-
rael.

Italian School Awards
Medal to New York Surgeon

ROME (JTA) — Dr. Samuel
Rosen, director of the surgery
department at Mt. Sinai Hos-
pital, New York, received an
outstanding honor from Bol-
ogna University, one of the old-
est institutions of higher learn-
ing in the Western world.
The New York surgeon was
awarded the university's gold
medal and 1,000,000 lire during
ceremonies inaugurating the
879th academic
university's
year.
