Marvin Lehrman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lehrman, of
20019 Lichfield, and Joel Mitchell Cohen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan W. Cohen, of 10139 Curtis, have returned from Chicago,
Ill., where, as members of the Wayne State University debating
squad, they participated in the Navy Pier Tournament at the
University of Illinois. Many of the Middle West's leading univer-
sities were represented. On - the return trip, at the invitation of
James Bird, educational director of Jackson Prison, the young
men stopped off there to participate in a series of debates with
the prisoners. An inspection tour of the institution and luncheon
with prison officials followed.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Lash, of this city, are currently vaca-
tioning in Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman W. Zimmerman, of Oak Park, Mich.,
have returned home from a stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs: Mollie Shulman and daughter, Betty, of Pasadena Ave.,
have just returned from a month's holiday in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Levin, of 19161 Meyers, left Dec. 19
for Los Angeles,. Calif., where they will spend two months visit-
ing with their children.
Mr. Jerry Laurence Kazdan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Kazdan, of 24321 Blackstone, Oak Park, has been elected presi-
dent of Kappa chapter, Kappa Nu fraternity, on the campus of
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Irving Markel was honored with two events ; in celebra-
tion of his birthday last weekend. He was the guest of honor
at a luncheon tendered at the Hotel Statler Terrace Room by his
brother, Mr. Sidney Markel, and was honored at a dinner party
at Jeri's given by Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Sikov for family and
friends..
