Here Sunday Night

With the approach of the
holiday season, the Post Office
Department this week issued
its annual call for early mailing
of greeting cards and parcels.
Since Hanukah will be cele-
brated this year from Dec. 18
to 25, the Post- Office advises
that parcels. being shipped over
1,800 miles be sent no . later
than Dec. r 3. Local parcels
should be mailed no later than
Dec. 15.
Parcels weighing no more
than 20 pounds and not exceed-
ing 72 inches in_ length and
girth may be mailed anywhere
domestically: If parcels exceed
this size, call the Post Office for
information.
Packages to servicemen by
air parcel post are limited to
two pounds and 30 incheS, while
regular parcels May be 70
pounds and 100 inches in
weight and size. Perishable
items should be marked accord-
ingly.

memorative plaque to Meyer
Weingarden for services to the
new Hebrew Academy, 17506
Wyoming, highlighted dedica-
tion of the new school last Sun-
day.
Rabbi S. P. Wohlgelernter
conducted the ceremonies and
made the award to Weingarden.
Other talks were given by
Bernard L. Jonas, PTA presi-
dent, Rabbi Joseph Elias, prin-
cipal of the Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah under whose auspices
the Academy is being -operated,
Martin Schlussel and -student
Harry Feld, who gave -a He-
brew recitation.
The - PTA will hold a. "Meet
the Teachers" night at 8 p.m.,
Monday. Information on regis-
tration at the Academy is

or UN 2-6181. TranspOrtation
is provided by the Yeshivah
schools.

Mizrachi - Hapoel Hamizrachi
of Detroit, in cooperation with
Young Israel Center of Oak-
Woods, will sponsor the appear-
ance here of Dr. Bernard D.
Bergman, noted author, lecturer
and Zionist leader.
Dr. Bergman will address a
public meeting, to be held at
8:30 p.m., Dec. 3, at the Young
Israel Center, 24061 Coolidge,
Oak Park.
A past president of the Ha-
poel Hamizrachi, before the re-
cent merger with Mizrachi,
Rabbi Bergman, is currently
honorary chairman of the Re-
ligious Zionist Organization of
America.
He holds a doctor of Hebrew
letters degree from Yeshiva
University, is a lecturer at New
York University, and is a mem-
ber of the Zionist Actions Com-
mittee of the World Zionist
Congress.
In addition to Dr. Bergman's
address, there will be a musical
program and a social hour.
Greetings will be extended
to Dr. Bergman by Zionist and
communal leaders.
There will be no admission
charge and no solicitation of
funds. Refreshments will be
served after the program.
An arrangements committee
to welcome Dr. Bergman has
been formed under the chair-
manship of Rabbi Jacob Hom-
nick and Errie Loewentha•
Serving on the committee are:
