JNF Conference
Slated for Nov. 10

Prominent Israeli and Ameri-
can personalities, musical pres-
entations, and a special
gram honoring Dr. Chaim Weiz-
mann, will be featured at the
annual state-wide conference of
the Jewish National Fund,
which will be held Nov. 10, at
Cong. Ahavas Achim, Schaefer
Hwy. and Seven Mile Rd.
Chanan Yarden, a resident of
Jerusalem for many years, and
one of the leaders of the world
Jewish National Fund, will be
the keynote speaker. Rabbi
Charles E. Shulman, who has
just returned from an extended
stay in Israel, will deliver the
principal address. Arie Shoval,
a native-born Israeli who fought
in Israel's War of Independ-
ence and who is currently di-
rector of the Jewish National
Fund youth department, will
also participate.
A feature of the conference
will be the ceremonial com-
memoration of the fifth anni-
versary of the death of Dr.
Weizmann, Israel's first presi-
dent. Cantor Reuven Frankel,
accompanied by Mrs. Frankel
on the chalil, will present a
musical program.
According to Richard L. Kra-
mer, conference chairman, a se-
ries of panel discussions will

be held, following the major
presentations. Among the panel
leaders will be Mrs. Sidney Ra-
vin, chairman of the ladies'
auxiliary, Foundation for the
Jewish National Fund, and
vice-president of the Jewish
National Fund Council. Special
arrangements are being made
for Landsmanschaft, congrega-
tional, and youth groups,
among others, to participate in
the various panels.
The public is invited to par-
ticipate in the plenary session,
which will begin at 2:00 p.m.
and in the panel discussions on
the role of the Jewish National
Fund in the building of Israel,
and ways of intensifying com-
munity participation. The musi-
cal program and the ceremo-
nial presentation will be held
in the afternoon. There will be
no admission charge.

vention of Women's Branch,
Union of Orthodox Jewish Con-
gregations of America, to take
