Spain Allows Forming
of World ORT Group

GENEVA—Establishment of
an ORT committee in Spain
was announced Tuesday by the
World Ort Union. The com-
mittee, to be headed by Dr.
S. Danon, leader of Spain's
Jewish community of 3,000, was
set up following the recent
visit of Mme Haskin of the
World ORT Union.
In past years, Spain's Jews
have had little opportunity to
work with world Jewish or-
ganizations and the establish-
ment of the ORT group was
interpreted here as indicating
some liberation of the Spanish
regime's policy towards its
Jewish minority.
