Jennie Jacobs Dies;
Was Zionist Leader,
Active in Hadassah •

One of Detroit's most active
women's leaders, Mrs. Jennie
Jacobs, of 17725 Manderson,
died Oct. 9.
She was . the wife of Morris
Jacobs, a past president of the
Zionist Organization of Detroit
and the Michigan Zionist Re-
gion.
Born in Austria, Mrs. Jacobs
spent her childhood in Birming-
ham, Ala. She came to Detroit
with her husband 24 years ago.
Besides her activities. along-
side her husband in the ZOD,
Mrs. Jacob was extremely ac-
tive in the Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah, in which she served
as education chairman. She also
promoted the program and
fund-raising • projects of the or-
ganization, - and was an ardent
worker-in study group activities.
A serious student of Jewish
affairs, -Mrs. Jacobs took
courses in Jewish studies at the

her mother, Mrs. Jacob Feld-
stein, of Birmingham, Ala.; and
three sisters, Mrs. L. Lewis and
Mrs. B. Bubinstein, of Birming-
ham, and Mrs. S. Frankel, of
Miami Beach, Fla.
