Gutterman to Promote UN Day

By DR. DAVID I. MACHT

Baltimore Physician, Author and Poet, Born in 1882

Rejoice then, 0 Israel! Thy praise
Unto Thy Master give.
No more the Torah bids thee die,
Today it bids thee — live!
Let revelry hold its sway, then

And the hour be given to cheer,
For the cycle of reading is ended
On the happiest day of the year.
And lest the mocker derisive,
Avow you delight to be through
Lovingly wind it from end to start
And begin to read it anew!

LESTER GUTTERMAN, an of-
ficial of Bnai Brith, was ap-
pointed to the executive com-
mittee of the United States
Committee for the United Na-
tions, a national group estab-
lished to promote the observ-
ance of United Nations Day.
