to Speak at Tea

MRS. HAROLD ALLEN

Following their Mexican hon-
eymoon, Harold Allen and his
bride, the former Millicent Shaw,
will live in Birmingham. They
repeated their vows Sept. 8 under
a canopy of yellow tulle and
autumn mums at Temple Israel.
Dr. Leon Fram officiated. .

The bride, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Shaw, of Men-
dota Ave., wore an ivory Italian
silk taffeta gown of princess line.
The scooped neckline and capped
sleeves were appliqued with
Point de Leon lace, which was
repeated in the body of the dress,
terminating in a long train.

Her lace mantilla was high-
lighted with tiny seed pearls.
She carried her white Bible,
trimmed with a single white -Or-
chid and stephanotis.

The matron of honor was Mrs.
Stewart Allen and the maid of
honor was Phyllis Shaw. The
bridesmaids were Avon Horwitz,
Mrs. David Brasch and Mrs.
Miles Brasch. Junior bridesmaid
was Fern Shaw, sister of the
bride, while Sharon and Lynn
Weiner were twin flower girls.

Joseph Schildkraut, currently
starring in "The Diary of Anne
Frank," will be guest speaker at
a reception and tea of the De-
troit Women's Division, Ameri-
can Jewish Congress, it was an-
nounced by Mrs. Louis Redstone,
president.

12:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the North-
land Center

planned for next month at Elm-
wood Casino.
Schildkraut, one of the most
popular character actors of stage
and screen, created the role of
Otto Frank on Broadway, where
the play ran for nearly two years.
He plays the same role in the
road company production cur-
rently being staged in Detroit.

Two Detroiters have been ap-
pointed to the Attorney's Honor
Program of the Civil Division,
Department of Justice in Wash-
ington, D. C., it was announced
this week by William P. Rogers,
Deputy Attorney General.
They are Norman Hyman, of

cow, of 19939 Lesure.

uate of Wayne State University,
