Kirk Douglas Film

"The Careless Years" is a low-
budgeted picture produced by
Kirk Douglas' Bryna Produc-
tions—without the star himself
appearing in it. Written and
produced by Edward Lewis, it
deals with the trials and tribu-
lations of teenagers, a worth-
while. effort of the filmmakers.
Edward Lewis also plans a tele-
vision series, "The King of the
Vikings," to follow up the multi-
million dollar Viking feature
starring Kirk Douglas and cur-
rently before the cameras in
Europe. The TV series is being
written by Lewis with Sterling
Hayden playing the title role.

Trenton Mayor Honored In
Israel; Gets Key to Elath
TEL AVIV, (JTA)—The first
key to the town of Elath was
presented with fanfare to Mayor
Donald J. Connally of Trenton,
New Jersey, who toured the
southern port city as a guest of
the Israel bond drive.
Back in Tel Aviv, Mayor Con-
nally, who brought with him
pledges from the Jewish com-
munity of Trenton for the pur-
chase of $250,000 in bonds, said
he was greatly impressed by
his tour of Israel's cities and
major towns. He compared Ha-
ifa to Trenton as a port city
and an industrial center.
