Israel to Map Aid
Program for Ghana
(JTA) — T h e
new Republic of Ghana is in-
terested in obtaining techni-
cians and similar experts to
help build up the new nation,
Kogo Botsio, Ghana's Minister
of Commerce and Industry, said
here.
It was learned that Israeli
government officials were de-
veloping plans for a technical
aid program for Ghana along
the lines of United States tech-
nical aid to Israel. It was noted
that Ehud Avriel, the first Is-
raeli Ambassador to - Ghana,
had been director general of
the Prime Minister's office and
in that capacity, he headed the
_ Israeli group which made the
initial arrangements for receiv-
ing American technical aid.
Although Israel has been
sending technical aid experts
to Burma for several years,
Ghana will be the first country
to receive Israeli technical aid
which will incorporate what
Israel has learned from Amer-
ican technical aid experts. Bot-
sio told the press conference,
which marked the end of a
ten day Israel tour by a Ghana
governmental delegation, that
Ghana expects to increase ex-
ports of raw material to Israel
and to boost imports of Israel
industrial products.
A group of Ghana trade
union leaders will visit Israel
in the near future. A second
delegation will be made up of
workers from a Transport Co-
operative, who will study
methods of similar cooperatives
in Israel.

Budapest Radio
to Air Religion
LONDON (JTA)—A Jewish
religious service will be broad-
cast once a month over Radio
Budapest's series of religious
programs. In the past, such
broadcasts featured only Prot-
estant and Catholic services.
It was also reported that the
Central Board of Jews in Hun-
gary, which suggested the
broadcasting of Jewish services,
also obtained permission for the
publication of a Jewish year-
book. Publication of the an-
nual was suspended in 1955; it
is hoped that an issue will ap-
pear by the end of 1957.
Hungarian p o l i c e arrested
Istvan Hegedues, a grave dig-
ger, on charges of systemati-
cally robbing Jewish graves
in the town of Hod Mezova-
•sarhely, near Szeged. When
police searched his home they
found many gold objects which
Hegedues had removed from
graves i.vhere they had been
hidden by Hungarian Jews
prior to their deportation in
1944. The authorities have
charged Hegedues with robbing
graves since 1952.
