City of Hope Cancer Fighters Ready Name Chairmen
to Launch Blue Bank Campaign
for Book Fait

Getting ready to start on their annual Blue Bank Cam-
paign are these members of the City of Hope Cancer Fighters,
pictured, left to right, Mesdames PHIL MOSS, ABE EIZEL-
MAN, vice-president of fund-raising; MAX COHEN and LEO
RUDOLPH. Members of the group will meet at Mrs. Moss'
home, 19819 Sussex, at 9 a.m., Oct. 1, to begin work on the
campaign which runs through Dec. 31. Banks will be placed in
business establishments in surrounding areas, with funds col-
lected to go directly to the City of Hope, the free, non-sectarian
national medical center at Duarte, Calif., which cares for
patints suffering from cancer, leukemia, tuberculosis, Hodg-
kin's disease and heart ailments. Mrs. Moss, Mrs. Rudolph and
Mr. Cohen are chairmen of the drive.

Planning for the sixth annual
Jewish Book Fair, Nov. 23-25,
moves ahead as announcement

Israeli Stamp Club
to Resume Activities

The recently organized Is-
raeli Stamp Club will resume
its fall activities with a meet-
ing at 8:30 p.m., Oct. 2, at the
Beth Aaron Synagogue board
room.
Eli Grad, educational director
of Shaarey Zedek, will speak
on the "Big Jewish Stories the
Little Stamps Tell." Mr. Grad
is noted for his extensive Ju-
daica stamp collection and his
knowledge of Israeli stamp his-
tory.
Dr. Sam Halperin, of Wayne
University, and Bernard Pa-
nush, of Beth Aaron, who were
instrumental in organizing the
Israeli stamp club, extend an
invitation to all Detroiters in-
terested in Israeli Philately to
attend the meeting and to par-
ticipate in the club activities.
