MRS. JERRY SHERMAN

Janice Elaine Glickstein be-
came the bride of Jerry Burton
Sherman at a double-ring cere-
mony solemnized, Aug. 18 at
Cong. Ahavas Achim. Rabbi
Jacob Chinitz 'and Cantor Jacob
Tambor officiated.
The new Mrs. Sherman is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Glickstein, of Kentucky Ave.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sherman,
of Gardner Ave., Oak Park.
The bride was gowned in
crystal white, rose-patterned
Chantilly lace. Flowerettes of
the lace frosted with pearls and
irridescent paillettes bordered
the bateau neckline and was
scalloped around the hem of the
skirt, which swept into a
formal pointed train.
A cap of jeweled lace crown-
ed her tiered veil of silk illu-
sion, and she carried white
spray orchids and stephanotis
on her white confirmation
prayerbook.
Mrs. Irving Hershman was
the bride's matron of honor, and
Sandra Dorf, Ellen Glickstein
and Judy Cohen, her cousins,
were bridesmaids. Susan Glick-
stein and Brenda. Sherman; sis-
ters, respectively, of the bride
and bridegroom, were junior
bridesmaids.
Murray Sherman served as
his brother's best man, while
ushers were Burton Epstein,
Allan Pearlman and Irving
Hershman.
Also in the bridal party were
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Epstein,
the bride's grandparents, and
the bridegroom's grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sherman, of
Los Angeles, and Mrs. Sarah
Begelman, who was escorted by
her son, Dr. David Beal.
Following dinner in the May-
fair Room, the couple left for
a three-week honeymoon to
Miami Beach, Fla., after which
they will reside on S. Norfolk
Ave.

for Mr. and Mrs. Peter Goss, of
2911 Sturtevant, who last Sun-
day celebrated their 60th wed-
ding anniversary at a family
dinner party with their children
and grandchildren.
In addition to being married
in September, it is the month
of Mrs. Goss' birthday and the
month, back in 1921, when she
and her family came to the
United States to join Mr. Goss
after a forced eight-year sepa-
ration during World War I and
the Russian Revolution.
It was also in September that
the couple's son, Dr. S. B. Goss,
returned from overseas duty in

Plan Season's Activities

Beth Aaron Young People's
League, under the presidency
of Debby Wainer, is currently
planning a series of events for
the coming season. All girls,
17 to 25, and boys, 18 to 25,
are invited to join.
Assisting Miss Wainer in
planning the year's program are
Marilyn Lux, vice-president;
Don Saltz, treasurer; Phyllis
Silver and Skippy Musket, sec-
retaries; and Irwin Levy, sgt.-
at-arms.

DEPARTMENT OF MICH-
IGAN AUXILIARY will hold
its initial meeting on Wednes-
day, in the Memorial Home,
when Mrs. Corrinne Oppen-
heim, Department president,
will report on highlights of the
recent national convention in
Boston. Other projects to be
discussed are Franklin Settle-
ment School, proposed as a child
welfare program; and Battle
Creek Hospital, under advise-
ment as a new hospital service
program.

YETZ-COHEN AUXILIARY
will meet for the first time
under newly-elected president,
Mrs. Dorothy Schwartzman, on
Monday evening, in the Memo-
rial Home. New Year's cards
will be sold, or may be ob-
tained by calling Sarah Kamin-
sky, LI 4-1781. A party will be
given for patients at Ann Arbor
Veterans Hospital this Sunday,
announce Betty Spinner and
Anne Weinstein, hospital co-
chairmen. An all-star variety
show will be featured, and can-
teen books, cigarettes and re-
freshments will be distributed.
