Post Office Warning
on Special Delivery Mail

An announcement made this
week by Detroit Postmaster
Edward L. Baker calls atten-
tion to the fact that although
the price of special delivery
mail was increased to 30 cents
over two months ago, 13 per-
cent of the originating special
delivery letters continue to be
shortpaid.
Post Office regulations, he
said, state that special delivery
fees • must be prepaid in addi-
tion to regular postage. The
Bureau of Finance, he contin-
ued, has ruled that if the proper
fee is lacking, the special de-
livery endorsement will be
stricken out and the letter dis-
patched as ordinary mail.
A new 30-cent special de-
livery - stamp made its debut
on Wednesday, he concluded.
If there is any doubt about
postal fees, Baker said a call to
the nearest post office branch
will clarify them.

Judy Holliday will repeat her
starring role in the motion pic-
ture version of "Bells are Ring-
ing," Broadway musical in
which she has been appearing
for 'the oast 36 -weeks.
