Moishe Dworkin, president of
the Student Zionist Organiza-
tion at Wayne State University
and a teacher at the United
Hebrew Schools, recently spoke
to the leadership training group
of Senior Young Judaea on the
beginnings of the state of Israel.
The group, composed of 14 to
17 year-olds from Detroit and
Oak Park, is directed by Avram
Lauffer, a group worker from
Chicago.
Lauffer, along with Albert
Elazar, chairman of the Zion-
ist Youth Commission, an-
nounced that Sara Johnson,
president of Detroit and Cen-
tral States Region of Junior
Hadassah, and Mortan Plotnick,
active in Bnai Brith, Jewish
Center and Jewish Welfare
Federation junior division ac-
tivities, will act as advisors dur-
ing the coming year.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Bistrow,
of 19768 Mansfield, have re-
turned home following a stay
in Mt. Vernon, Ill., where they
witnessed the first bris ever
