Luncheon Honors Israel
Bond Women Leaders

Sixty women who attended
the Israel Bond Women's "Time
for Tribute" dessert luncheon
in the home of Mrs. Irvin
Tann, 19150 Berkley, heard Is-
raeli folk songs by the husband
and wife team, Batia Ostrovsky 1
and Jona Shklar.
Another highlight of the
afternoon was the tribute paid
to the women by Detroit's Is-
rael Bond chairman, Abe Kasle,
who commended the women
for their devoted efforts in col-
lecting the pledges made at the
recent c ha i r m a n's dinner.
Kasle, assisted by Mrs. Philip
Helfman, Women's Division
chairman, presented C H E N
charms to those women who
had earned them by selling
over $2,500 in bonds.
Mrs. Philip Cutler, chairman
of cash collections, announced
that $38,000 had been turned in
as a result of a concerted effort
on the part of the women in
the past two weeks to finalize
the pledges made in the past
month.
Mrs. Joseph Katchke, hon-
orary chairman of the Wom-
en's Division, presented Mrs.
Cutler with an Israeli Bible, as
a tribute for her devoted work.
"Woman of Valor" awards
were given Mesdames Tom
Borman, Joseph Katchke,
Philip Helfnian, Philip Cutler,
Rachel Kurtzman, Max Stoll.-
man and Joseph Holtzman.
