Community Centers .under a
unique work - s tudy arrange-
ment, it was announced by Eli
Picheny, field secretary, Mid-
west Section, . National Jewish
Welfare Board in Chicago, IC.
Under the work - study ar-
rangement, students can attend
a school of social work, at an
accredited university, and do
group work at a Center at the
same time.
In addition to the work-study
plan, scholarship grants total-
ing between $25,000 and $40,000
are sponsored by Centers and
JWB Sections for graduate pro-
fessional social work education.
Scholarships up to $1,400 a
year and work-study plans
which provide up to •hree-
quarters of a beginning work-
er's full salary, are now avail-
able, Picheny 'announced.
According to the scholarship
and w ark -study plans which
are available, local residents
may qualify for grants in other
parts of the country.
