Attention: ADL
We came across a rather
novel formula in hotel discri-
mination . .. The Mirror Lake
Inn at Lake Placid attracts
clients in its printed promotion
material as follows. "It features
an attractive lounge, veranda,
solarium, reading lounge with
its Christian-religious library,
game room etc." ..-. We haven't
checked whether the empha-
sized Christian-religious library
means that Jews are unwelcome
. . . But we have a strong sus-
picion that the management has
devised this new formula to
make a point . . . The ADL,
which is very much concerned
with this type of discrimination
might look into this situa-
tion . . .
Splendid Job:
"Israel, Life ,and Letters" is
the name of the new quarterly
publication issued by the Amer-
ica - Israel Cultural Founda-
tion . . . The first issue has
reached our desk and we find
it a real de luxe magazine . .
It is technically on .a par with
the best in the non-Jewish field
. . . The lay-out and photo-
graphy are excellent . . . The
editorial material is well chosen
. . . Arthur J. Lelyveld,- its
editor should be congratulated
. . . There can be no doubt that
Israel will be welcomed with
genuine enthusiasm in many
homes of this country.

The Bnai Brith is sponsoring
a series of 20 institutes on the
interesting theme of "What is
the relationship of Judaism and

of Jesus? The institutes will be
held in the United States and
Switzerland . . . And on the
agenda are: Sex in Jewish fam-

of business, crime and punish-
ment with tradition and the
development of HebreW litera-
ture in America . . . A rather
stimulating potpouri of intel-
lectual nourishment for which
