Federation Women to Hold Annual• itreeting, June 18
The 11th annual meeting of
the Women's Division, Jewish
Welfare Federation, at Knoll-
wood Country
Club, a t 12
noon, Tuesday,
June le, will
climax the Di-
vision's most
eventful year
in its history,
by raising
$630,000 for the
Allied Jewish
Campaign.
This sum is
the largest
ever for the Mrs. Goodman
Women's Division and the
largest sum r a i s e d by any
-UJA Women's Division except
that of New York City.
Mrs. Jack A. Goodman, Indi-
anapolis, national president of
the UJA Women's-Division, will
be the honored guest at the
meeting, •
Mrs. Lewis Daniels, local
president, will review the Wom-
en's Division activities and will
preside over the .election of new
division . officers and board
members.
Mrs. Harry L. Jones, the
*omen's Allied Jewish Cam-
paign chairm,an, will present a
campaign report and award
"Wimmies" (dolls representing
Federation's 13 'member agen-
cies in Detroit) to outstanding
sections of the division. ,..
There is a nurse to represent
Sinai Hospital; a grey haired
doll representing the Jewish
Home for Aged; a recreational
worker with a whistle, on a
cord around her neck, repre-
senting the Jewish Community
Centers; a Hebrew teacher in a
skull cap for the United He-
brew Schools and nine other
equally clever representations
which chairmen will accept on
behalf of sections that recruited
the greatest number of cam-
paign workers.
Musical parodies written by
Mrs. Leonard H. Weiner will be
sung 'by Mrs. Leon H. Lewis,
Mrs. Donald Schiller • and Mrs.
Frank Reisman,' under the di-
rection of Mrs. Sidney J. Winer,
accompanied by Mrs. Victor
Linden.
