Arrive from Calif. Mrs. Rosenberg
to Fete 50th Wedding Installed Prexy

of Infants Service

Mr. and Mrs. MORRIS MARKS

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Marks
have arrived here from Califor-
nia to celebrate their 50th wed-
ding anniversary this week with
their children.
A buffet supper is planned
for the entire family this Sun-
day, at the home of their chil-
dren, Lillian and Irving Grumet
in Farmington.
Also participating in the fes-
tivities will be the Marks' other
children, Sadie and Moe Lak-
ritz, and a son, Mack Marks,
of California, who will be here
with his daughter.
_ Mr. and MrS. Marks, who
were neighbors in Poland, were
married on June 9, 1907 in New
York, and came here shortly
afterward. They were Detroit
residents until 10 years ago
when they moved West.
The couple has eight grand-
children and three great grand-
children.

Shaarey Zedek Men
to Install Officers

Mrs. Irving Rosenberg was
installed on Tuesday as presi-
dent of the Infants Service
Group. She succeeds Mrs. Ben
Marcus in office.
Mrs. Allan Saltz was chair-
man of the affair, which was
held at Tam O'Shanter Coun-
try Club. Mrs. Julian Grace
delivered the invocation.
Other neW officers who were
installed included Mesdames
Norman Brode, Samuel Kop-
pelman and Louis Merson, vice-
presidents; Sam Katz and David
Grossman, case chairmen; Sam-
uel Guttentag, treasurer; Harry
Rudak, Louis Malkin, Frank
Shook and Merle Bronstein, sec-
retaries; Edward Levitt, com-
munity relations; Sidney Cohen,
memorial fund; Samuel Rosen-
berg, happy day fund; Morton
Partovich and George 'Schwartz,
delegates.
Mrs. Marctis, before retiring
as president, announced distri-
bution of the organization's
funds to the following projects:
Community case work, $7,000;
Detroit Association for Mentally
Retarded Children, $3,600; Pen-
rickton Nursery for Visually
Handicapped Children, $2,500;
CARE packages to Israel,
$1,250; Wayne County Training
Center at Northville, $200; Ruth
Alden Dress Fund, $100; Mo'os
Hitim, $150; and tuition to Cole-
man _ School for a. handicapped
child; $1215.
In addition, women of the In-
fants Service Group have sup-
ported the Chaplains Fund for
Forgotten Veterans, USO and
other organizations.
Starting 22 years ago with
six •'women, the group has
grown to a membership of 200.
Funds are raised primarily
through- a dinner-dance, held
annually -in January.
Besides furnishing hundreds
of layettes for new infants in
Israel, providing incubators, a
station wagon and other medi-
cal accessories to local centers
and hospitals, ISG established
the DARC Center at Woodward
and W. Grand Blvd.

The neckline was of scalloped*
lace, over which were studded
iridescent sequins and pearls,
and the sleeves were long and
of lace. The lace skirt extended
into a tremendous • full-length
train. Her headpiece of match-
ing lace was- also studded with
sequins and pearls, and was
held in place by an imported
veil of scalloped French illusion
which fell to her fingertips. She
carried white orchids on a
prayerbook.

Brenda Utley was the maid
of honor, and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Robert Krause, Mrs. Harry
Siegel and Rosalyn Markel, with
Barbara Mager as junior brides-
maid.

The bridegroom, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Issie Markel, of 3316
Elmhurst, was attended by his
brother, David 1VIarkel, as best
man, while ushers included Rob-
ert Krause, Harry Siegel and
Harold Bloom. Eugene Lumberg
was junior usher, and Garry
Siegel was ring bearer.
Following the wedding, the
couple left for a honeymoon to
Florida and Nassau, after which
they will take up residence on

Area Women's Sale
to Aid Handicapped

.Residents of northwest De-
troit have banded together for
a second annual spring sale to
benefit the Detroit League for
the Handicapped. This year's
sale will be held from 10 a m
to 5 p.m., Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. James Winman,
17176 Fairway.
On sale will be various items
crafted by handicapped persons
which the League aids. The
items will include linens, in-
fants wear, blanket covers,
kitchen gadgets, travel cases,
aprons and toys.
